Instant Messaging at work – not impossible!

Have you installed an instant messaging (IM) client at work? Come on, be honest. See… I knew it. But don’t feel ashamed, you’re not alone. In my closer circle of friends everybody uses some kind of IM client at work: Skype, MSN, AIM, ICQ, Gtalk, Jabber… to name only a few. I don’t think anybody would argue against the fact that IM can steal precious work time but also may improve your productivity and social network.     The question of the productiveness of IM reminds me a lot of the question whether violence in TV causes real violence or not. As you already remarked Rob, that depends strongly on the person and her willigness to use IM productively or to waste time on it.
